Persuasion Dynamics

If you were to think of the last time that you listened to a great speaker that really moved you, what was it that "did it" for you?

Was it what the speaker said?

How they said it?

Their "Presence?"

Was it how, for some reason, you felt as if they were speaking directly to you, even though you were in a room full of other people.

Now clear that thought from your mind and remember a time when you had a boss, peer, colleague or friend speak to you in a way that really touched you.  Where what they said really hit home and made you think and act differently.

What made the difference there?

The words?

Their perceived intent?

The logic of what they said?

How they said it?

Communication is a funny thing when you take some time to really investigate it.  When people are talking, over 90% of the communication is happening "under the surface".

There are so many signals going back and forth when people are communicating, it's incredible!  While our conscious mind is paying attention to the words, your unconscious mind is paying attention to so much more!

But I'm getting ahead of myself here...

First, a quick word about your conscious mind.  Your conscious mind is linear, logical and is limited in it's capacity to calculate and remember.  It can handle only about 7 pieces of information at a given time (hence telephone numbers being 7 digits).

Your unconscious mind, at the same time, can handle over 2 million pieces of information!  The difference is as staggering as are the implications.

Have you ever had the experience of listening to somebody and thinking "What they're saying makes sense, but my gut is saying no."?

And 9 times out of 10, your gut is right!  That's because your gut is taking signals from your unconscious mind and it's reading information that's "under the radar" of your conscious mind.  Things like:

  • Voice tone
  • Body language
  • Congruency
  • Breathing
  • Inflections
  • Eye movements
  • Unconscious Word Selection

Well, what if you knew how this "under the radar" system worked?

Do you think that it might give you an advantage in communication?

"Advantage" is an understatement actually.  Knowing this information gives you a quantum leap of an advantage.  So much so, that I need to stress this right now...

You need to use this information to create "win-win" relationships and solutions.  If you use this information for only your own good and nobody else's, it has a way of coming back on you...Hard

On the other hand, use this information to build connections, create wins for all involved and improve people's lot in life and you will be seen as a leader, charismatic and the "go to guy (or gal)"

Persuasion Dynamics was born out of my insatiable desire to understand how people influence one another.  What made one person incredibly influential and the other person blend into the background.

So I studied great speakers, leaders, salespeople, TV personalities and even cults and did my best to "break the code" of these influence specialists.  One of the greatest realisations I had was that these people communicated at both the conscious and unconscious levels of understanding.

Once I broke the code, I sat down and said "How do I learn this and how do I teach this in a way that virtually anybody could learn to become more influential and persuasive?"

And from this quest, Persuasion Dynamics was born.

Over the 6 years we've been offering this seminar, we've revised it 4 times, distilling it, bringing in new techniques and dropping the ones that weren't as effective.  We've trained over a thousand people from all sorts of careers, from sales people to managers to therapists to entrepreneurs.

What kind of results have we had?

A professional speaker tripled her book sales using our technology.

A financial institution increased it's sales people's revenue by 80% while decreasing their drop out rate by 70% (this alone saved them over $200,000).

An entrepreneur sold his business for an extra $250,000 using our techniques.

An auto maintenance company improved it's quarterly bottom line by $250,000 while increasing it's customer satisfaction scores.

A group of sales people using this technology decreased their sales cycle time by 30%

A senior VP regained his confidence and increased his leadership status in the senior team.

Another VP became the CEOs go to guy when he understood the CEOs communication style.

The list goes on...

The bottom line is effective, powerful communication is key to success.  The best way to get results is through others and it's through effective communication that you make that happen.
