Anxiety and Panic Disorders

Approximately 5% of the general population will experience anxiety or panic disorder at one time or another in their lives.  The source of anxiety or panic can either be found from a one-time event or can be linked to excessive prolonged stress.  In addition to the feeling of panic and anxiety, a number of physical symptoms such as trouble breathing, rapid heartbeat, sweating and dizziness are usually associated with this condition.

From a brain physiology point of view, a person who suffers from anxiety and panic disorder has a brain that locked into fight or flight survival mode.  When they are exposed to a stressful event, their uses this default circuitry and creates a panic attack.  traditional medications increase the threshold that it takes to create an attack which can be quite helpful.  the downside of this is that when the medications are discontinued, the brain returns to its old patterns.

Brain Music Therapy helps to literally press the reset button in your brain by encouraging relaxing, calming and balanced brain wave patterns.  Once your brain becomes more familiar with these patterns, it becomes much easier for you to stay calm and relaxed even during stressful or previously triggering times.  Instead of medicating your brain, we are teaching it a new, healthier way to respond.
